Poem - The Cut (Trigger Warning, Maybe?)

Not sure about the trigger warning, some people don't even realise what it's about... Glad of any opininons!
Between my fingers my silver companion
Shines in all its lustrous glory
Ready to draw the scarlet ribbon
Of the lover telling the sanguine story
The first cut; the sharp sting
That crimson bead, a symbol of violence
Dangerous, yet so alluring
It quietens the noise and amplifies the silence
My dead heart is bought back to joyous life
Even as the battle in my head subsides
With the cut came the end of that strife
But that night, a piece of my soul also died
Between my fingers my silver companion
Shines in all its lustrous glory
Ready to draw the scarlet ribbon
Of the lover telling the sanguine story
The first cut; the sharp sting
That crimson bead, a symbol of violence
Dangerous, yet so alluring
It quietens the noise and amplifies the silence
My dead heart is bought back to joyous life
Even as the battle in my head subsides
With the cut came the end of that strife
But that night, a piece of my soul also died
