Aw hun, that had to have been awful.

People can say all they want that "Oh, he didn't touch you, he didn't get you, you weren't hurt, he wasn't after you," but that doesn't change the fact that he violated your space, found his way into your home, and made it feel unsafe for you. And that won't go away for a while - but it WILL fade in time. In the meantime, do wahtever you need to to at least try to feel safe - get new locks while you ARE there, sleep with the lights on, keep a phone by you at all times, don't be alone in the house - these all might help.

Having your mother out of town didn't help either - even though it was out of her control, there's still that subliminal feeling that she wasn't there for you when you needed her. If you feel this bad, imagine how SHE must feel - she must be frantic, and heavy with guilt. Try talking to her - she'll do anything she can to help. Just know that she didn't know this would happen and she would have done ANYTHING to protect you.

Moving also might help - the rooms won't contain those bad memories anymore and gives you a place to really start over. Maybe you'll feel better then.

Have you thought about getting a dog or something like that? It might help you feel more secure to know that someone else is watching out for you. Would that be a possibility?

Let me know how things are going. I hope things get better.
