Ed Notice?

I think the red notices there is on certain forums are good things.. But the ED forum can be just as triggering as Self-Harm and Depression, so I think there should a warning on the ED forum too.. just trying to help you out..

erm.. sorry then. i don't know why you would need it in disorders too.. but w/e.. i was just thinking that if you were saying it was triggering then why not put it on something else just as triggering as the other ones you've got on there

Umm the way I see it, Eating Disorders tend to be "learned" disorders that can be triggered by many things.



On the other hand disorders in general do not usually seem to be "learned", are usually there from birth and I am unsure about any disorders that are easily triggered or able to be triggered at all.



I may have a total misconception here, and if so please let me know, but I think thats what fishhead is refering to.

skye, why do you have to also lock disorders if you lock the ED forum? im just curious as it doesnt make sense to me. the disorders forum isnt triggering at all.

excuse me, it was your idea to lock down this forum. the only you suggested it is because you saw another forum that does it and you thought "oh wow, helpingteens should follow what everyother site does instead of being itself." i am totally agianst locking this forum from people, it greatly handicaps this site from helping people who dont want to become members.

well 1) i dont think they should be banned from being viewed i believe there should be a warning but that they should NOT be banned

2) i personally have trouble going into the ED forum, i go in there i feel fat, stupid and it makes me never want to eat again sometimes unless i have a question and am recieving help thats the only time i DONT feel that way

3) i agree with what fizz said about the whole "learned" thing

Because you've had an eating disorder? Obviously not or you would know that numbers trigger, people saying they're fat and weigh 99 pounds trigger. They trigger people to want to be skinnier.

I think some of the stuff people say in the Eating Disorder fourm is triggering. If someone were to want to search on google for help on an getting over an eating disorder and it were to bring up someone said in that fourm they could decided that they don't want to get over it anymore. Getting over an eating disorder is really hard for a lot of people just like not cutting is. A lot of people stop eating because they think they are helping themselves just like some who cut think they are helping themselves when really they both are just hurting themselves.
